- I would prefer to slink away from embarrassment, but so many people have
- answered me that I better own up. One person (I forget who) asked me to
- check if I had another file with the same name, but without the .dvi
- extension and suggested it might be trying to load that one. Sure
- enough, this file was temp.dvi and I had another file called temp (who
- doesn't?) When I tried xdvi temp.dvi all was well. Can I believe that
- xdvi does not default to a .dvi extension?
