- I have noticed that sometimes xdvi gets confused when I am re-TeXing a
- files already opened by xdvi. It gives a message like "bad preamble" and
- aborts, usually resulting in a core dump. The solution, apparently, is to
- minimise the xdvi window while I am reprocessing the .tex file. After the
- TeX run is finished, I can maximise the xdvi window and view the file
- without any problem. It even remembers what page I was viewing. Could this
- be your problem? I did try the sample you provided under both DOS and Unix
- and the results were identical.
