- We have a spare GX card (aka cgsix) that we'd like to install in a
- SPARCstation 1. This SPARCstation 1 currently has the bwtwo video
- interface.
-
- My office-mate has an IPX with greyscale and it has a GX card in it,
- so that's what they use for greyscale.
-
- The connector on the back of the SPARCstation 1 monitor isn't the
- right kind for greyscale; on my office-mate's monitor there are 3 coax
- connectors as part of the video connector, in addition to the rest of
- the pins.
-
- It seems to me that converting a b&w monitor shouldn't be that hard;
- they probably just short together the 3 rgb coax cables. Does anybody
- know if this can be done? Does Sun offer an upgrade to greyscale for
- b&w monitors? Does any 3rd party hardware company?
-
- Please respond with email and I'll post a summary.
