  14.      Funny thing happened to me this morning.  I've long been looking
  15. over the SparcBook Laptop.  The backlit Greyscale, Color, and Active
  16. Matrix Color systems have all had my attention.  Last night I thought
  17. that before I commit myself to buying a SparcClassic or Sparcstation LX,
  18. I should call them back and see if they're goinng to respond to Sun's
  19. price drop.

  21.      Well, this morning, they called ME.  The people at Tadpole seem to
  22. be very attentive.  I think they're in the place sun was a few years ago.
  23. They know they need to please us (the consumer) in order to get off the
  24. ground.

  26.      They now have an LC model.  It comes as a base unit of 180mb HD,
  27. greyscale  screen, and 8mb memory.  That costs3950.  add floppy for
  28. 750 and upto 16mb (max config for this system) is anohter950.  It's not
  29. upgradable after you buy it (lower cost components)

  31. The 16 mb, 180 meg, floppy, greyscale system is now 6450 (BIG cut from 10500).

  33. They're working on a Tsunami system, the guy said..

  35. and best of all, they're going to continue to support and sell Solaris 1
  36. for a LONG time to come. :-)

  38. If you really want a system, give them a call :-)

  40. (oh, and most of their products have a 5% education discount.  NOt a lot,
  41. but not bad).
