  15. SunPC will not start up on this system, it gets to the point of asking
  16. the (one-time) question about internationalisation preferences, and then
  17. hangs. It is expecting input from the keyboard (a number or just a CR),
  18. but nothing will get it to respond. The curious thing is that I tried
  19. firing it up remotely from a SPARC 10 running SunOS 4.1.3 (i.e. running
  20. on the SS2 having set the DISPLAY variable to the S10), and it did
  21. work. Thus I suspect a problem with the OW 3.0 server (it is possible
  22. that the OW3.0 on the SS2 is older than the OW3.0 on the S10).

  24. Whether it hangs or not (i.e. even when I got it to work remotely from
  25. the SPARC 10), the following messages appear in the window
  26. from which sunpc was invoked:
  27. error doing kbs I_PUSH: Invalid argument
  28. error doing mss I_PUSH: Invalid argument
  29.  
  30. I installed the lockd jumbo patch since that is what the Installation
  31. Guide suggests as a possible cause of a window freeze, but nothing
  32. changed after the reboot.
