  20. be the answer to the question.

  24. If that's the CD Manager that comes with various Sun CD-ROMs, the
  25. problem probably has nothing to do with "mwm"; it has to do with the
  26. fact that the application checks to see whether it's running under an
  27. environment that can support it by checking whether it's running on top
  28. of the X11/NeWS server, as I remember (it checks for the "NEWSSERVER"
  29. environment variable, or something such as that).  The damn thing should
  30. use some other technique for figuring out if the environment can support
  31. it, if it doesn't use NeWS.

  39. Given that the question is rhetorical and not particularly precise, I
  40. can only attempt to guess what you mean, but if the non-rhetorical
  41. question behind it is "when is Sun going to stop putting out
  42. applications that require NeWS?", I suspect the answer is "in Open
  43. Windows 4.0", if they have, indeed, shot NeWS in the head as their deal
  44. with Adobe hints they've done.
