- : Novel. His reasoning is ease of use/ admin simplicity/ etc.
- :
- : My question is that we have been installing TCP/IP with workstations for

- : may be hard to believe) and we were caught a bit flat footed. Though the
- : system performs very well sometimes the onsite admin is gone and everyone

- :
- : How much easier would their lifes be with a Novel server handling the PC's?
- Novell is faster, once you change your mindset Novell is equally difficult
- to administer. It does have menus to help you around things. Novell
- unfortunatly is faster. But you loose out on a lot of the TCP/IP
- goodies.
- :
- : Any opinions on the Novel TCP/IP product?
- :
- : Does Novel handle any WAN issues? ppp, uucp (I know, but I had to ask)
- :
- If it does I would like to know.
- : Has anyone made this type of transition before?
- :
- : Has anyone gone the other way (Novel to PCtcp)?
-
- I maintained a setup that had a Novell setup that used the same
- cable as the TCP/IP. We used a dual protocol stack on the pcs
- to access the Novell net for files and Sun's product PCNFS
- for the TCP/IP stuff.
