  14. I have the following NIS problem in connection with sendmail:

  16. I am running SunOS 4.1.2 on a SPARC 2. The machine is configured as a NIS client. The NIS server is a SPARC ELC running SunOS 4.1.1. As far as I can say both machines are set up correctly in our NIS domain. 
  17. Now I wanted to configure sendmail on the NIS client. If I try to send mail to anyone on the NIS client locally or from another machine, I get the following error message on the NIS client:

  19. NIS: server not responding for domain "noname"; still trying.
  20. NIS: server not responding for domain "noname"; still trying.
  21. NIS: server not responding for domain "noname"; still trying.
  22. NIS: server not responding for domain "noname"; still trying.
  23. ..

  25. The domainname on both server and client is set up correctly.

  27. So if anybody out there has any suggestions for me please help.
