  15. This is a followup to the posts about not being able to use an
  16. SBUS Sparc Printer card under Solaris 2.1, and therefore not on
  17. a Sparc Classic.

  20. A previous followup claimed that the SBUS card is not needed because the
  21. Sparc Classic has a parallel port.  But the SparcPrinter package is
  22. driven by a "video interface" which has a special device driver.
  23. (The card has a parallel port as well, for hooking HP printers and
  24. the like.)  In any case I don't think NeWSprint itself works under
  25. Solaris 2.1 -- I know there is a compatibility mode but NeWSprint does
  26. some funny things that might not work in compatibility mode.

  28. My Sun rep tells me that the whole setup will be ported to Solaris 2.1
  29. by March.
