- to do about it as the sys admins. Users tell me what they need, I recommend
- stuff to my boss. From my point of view Solaris 2.0 essentially gives me
- a hetrogeneous environment. If I'm going to open that can of worms I see no
- reason to buy Sun when HP has faster and cheaper boxes out there. With each
- solution I have to recompile everything I downloaded, learn new tools/commands,
- maintain separate binaries, and try to get new versions of off-the-shelf
- applications (like AutoCAD). I have to ask myself "Why buy Sun?".

- I understand the market Sun is going after, but if I had any Sun stock I'd
- sell it now. In a few years I see myself surrounded by HP boxes and a few
- ELC's doing stuff like news processing.
