- I'm just trying to establish public restricted Access to my Cluster Server.
- Building anon FTP was done in a Minute (thanks, Peter N. Lewis!). Unfortu-
- nately, I will have to grant certain Users interactive Access but still keep
- them in a Sub-Directory-Tree like anon FTP is trapped in /pub. I know that
- this requires copying all Executables to the Subtree, probably making anon
- FTP unsecure - so what, I'll disable it for the Time needed. However, I wasn't
- able so far to create a User with restricted Access using chroot. I tried to
- include a complete chroot Command in the Shell Field of /etc/passwd, but it
- seems that the Login Process reads this, tries to find a File with this Name,
- and exits on Error. Anybody knows how to munch this?
-
- My Setup:
- SPARCstation 2 Clone
- SunOS 4.1.2
- NIS, DNS outside the Cluster, using NIS 'B=-b' Option
- Having SEPARATE "/etc" Files for Server and Cluster
