  32. All the letter releases from D on were model specific.  B and C were
  33. all platforms, and were most definitely bug fixes (that were partially
  34. model specific).

  36. A lot of people at SGI would like an all platform release 'soon'.
  37. There is this minor ;)  battle between that desire, and the number of
  38. people to do development and testing on all those platforms in a short
  39. enough time frame to make it worthwhile (without making other products
  40. later!).

  42. At this point, I wouldn't hold out much hope (speaking only for myself,
  43. and not knowing just what upper management thinks) of seeing an all
  44. platform release before the next major OS release.  It is even possible
  45. that the first minor release of that major release will be machine
  46. specific (as happened with 4.0, which was only supposed to be used on
  47. Indigo).
