  12. ADRG stands for ARC DIGITIZED RASTER GRAPHIC.

  14. DTED is provided on a regular grid; ARDG is scanned in from
  15. actual maps, on which the scale varies from point to point
  16. depending on the projection.  But ADRG *looks* like a map, with
  17. colors and cultural features, while DTED has to be contoured or
  18. displayed on a wireframe.
