- You should be able to as long as:

- 1. You have a serial port and there is a getty on it.
- 2. You can type in you username and password without errors.

- I dont know the 3120, bu most of the time IRIX likes to have the first
- serial port as the console - you have to do some work to stop it.

- The top right key on the alphanumeric keyboard on newer DEC terminals is
- a delete, which IRIX by default sees as the -interrupt- key (like most
- System V derivatives). Once you are in as root you could reconfigure that
- port.

- Also ensure you set the terminal up in vt100 mode, that way at least you
- have an escape and a backspace key, even though they are in a funny position
- buried in the middle of the function key row.
