- I'd like to find some programs to run on a PC compatible Sharp PC3100, to
- replace the existing built-in applications (which are somewhat slow when they
- hit the file sizes I typically use). The present applications are an editor,
- a spreadsheet, a diary scheduler, an address book, an alarm. I'm pretty sure
- I'd have to continue to use the existing alarm, diary scheduler and popup
- manager, since the PC-3100 uses a "strange" clock and timer scheme.
-
- I'm trying Q-Edit as an editor replacement (VDE wouldn't handle my file sizes)
- but can anyone suggest a suitable spreadsheet, and also a small general
- purpose comms program? I'm not connecting the Sharp to a PC, so I can't make
- use of the builtin Laplink program. Whatever comms program is suggested would
- have to use some fairly widely known protocol, because I'll have to implement
- the same one on the machines at the other end (I'll try Kermit first, but
- that is nearly 100k, and I can't really spare the space).
-
- My data files run to 2x100k, 4x70k, 50k, 12k, and I've already installed
- 4Dos and a few minor utilities, so I don't have a lot of space left in the
- ram disk. Suggestions welcome.
