-
- Hi everybody. Gilles Kohl, the German genius responsible for the excellent
- 95LX version of Tetris, asked me to post this announcement in .PALMTOPS .
- Please note that *ALL* correspondence should be directed to Gilles@spam.fido.de
- - *NOT* mlindroos@abo.fi as I have nothing to do with this.
-
- Over to Gilles:
-
-
- Karlsruhe, 17. Nov 92
- Announcing IR95:
- ----------------
-
- Coming soon to an HP95 near you: IR95, the intelligent remote control
- software for your palmtop. Record all your remote controls codes and
- assign them to the keys of your HP95. Most expensive remote control
- you ever had :-)
-
-
- Features of IR95:
- -----------------
-
- - Non-commercial, freely distributable (see 'registration' below)
- (IR95 may not be sold for profit either)
- - EXE version for recording/organizing (stores *.KIR files)
- (EXE version also does playback, for testing)
- - system manager compatible EXM version (6K in size) for playback only.
- (uses *.KIR files)
- - runs in graphics mode. Large display of assigned keys thru use of 4x5 font.
- - PCX help page in EXE version.
- - continuous recording
- - status display
- - Nameing of key function (for ex. VCR>>) and key designation (for ex [UP])
- - assignment of entire KIR-files to keys. You can organize your files
- in a tree or flat structure by having them refer to each other.
- (Ex.: Use the function keys to switch between TV, VCR, CD, R25 ...)
-
-
- Availability:
- -------------
-
- V1.0 of IR95.EXE and IR95.EXM is available now. However, I don't have a direct
- access to comp.sys.palmtops or FTP servers, and the indirect access may take
- its time - IR95 will probably not appear on the net before christmas '92. If
- you want to get it earlier or want to be sure to get the most recent version,
- see 'registration' below.
-
-
- Registration:
- -------------
-
- Becoming a registered IR95 user is available at the cost of a
- postcard. (Please send a nice one, from your hometown).
- Send a 3.5" (730K or 1.44MB) disk along with the postcard to:
-
- Gilles Kohl,
- Rudolfstrasse 12
- W-7500 KARLSRUHE
- GERMANY
-
- An SASE is not necessary - the postcard is mandatory, though. (A friend of
- mine is collecting them). Don't forget both your snailmail and e-mail
- address. I can send e-mail in the Internet and FIDONet, volume is limited,
- though. (Don't send me large-sized mails, please. About 8K is the max.)
-
- As a registered user, you will be sent the most recent IR95 version on
- your disk. You will also be informed of updates thru your e-mail address.
-
- If you want to help me a bit, send a formatted disk, and include a file with
- your address, so I don't have to type it in.
-
- Features planned for V1.1:
-
- - Clipboard feature to copy keys between two KIR files
- - Macro recording. (Assign keystroke sequences to a single key)
- - Function library, IR95API.LIB - for users of Borland C languages.
- Write your own C programs using IR95's functions.
- (Load/save KIR file, IR record/playback, load and display PCX file etc.)
-
- V1.1 will be available to registered users only. It will be ready in a few
- weeks - I'm currently working on it.
-
- [You can reach me under 'gilles@spam.fido.de' (Internet) or 2:249/6.3
- (FIDONet). I can't send IR95 to you in uuencoded form, sorry.]
