- I'm having a few problems with a Novell 3.11 file server and primarily
- OS/2 2.0 workstations--mostly related to setting up remote printing.
-
- 1. CAPTURE seems to preserve the first LOGIN name used after the machine
- is booted across login sessions as the print separator name. I.e., if
- I login as USER1, then as USER2, anything USER2 prints will come out
- with the name "USER1" across the top. Only rebooting seems to clear
- this condition, and I don't consider that a reasonable solution.
-
- 2. RPRINTER (as provided with the OS/2 workstation kit) does not allow
- the user of a remote printer workstation to CAPTURE the same port
- the printer is attached to--or rather, doing so results in a
- recursive discussion between the OS/2 queue driving the captured
- port and the Novell queue trying to feed the remote printer.
-
- Previously, we were able to set up a remote printer (albeit using
- the LANSPOOL VAP on our 2.15 server) and then users could log in
- and CAPTURE the same port the printer was using to whatever location
- they desired--and remote printing continued to work.
-
- 3. Connections to OS/2 workstations never clear according to MONITOR,
- unless they are cleared forcefully or the workstation is rebooted.
- This leads to a lot of clutter on the "connections" display and I'm
- wondering if it's related to problem 1.
-
- Any help would be most appreciated!!
