  11. We are currently running a 386 server with 16mb of RAM, running v3.11
  12. This machine has a Futitsu 1.1GB SCSI hard drive, and we have attached
  13. an 8500 exabyte (on it's own SCSI card).

  15. The backup software we are running (or attempting to run) is Arcserve
  16. from Cheyenne v4.0.
  17.  
  18. Every time we do a backup of this volume, with a compare to disk option
  19. the backup fails during the compare. No problems are experienced if the
  20. compare to disk option is not selected.

  22. The Arcserve activity log shows that there was an error reading a file
  23. (differs on each occasion) due to a server error
  24.  
  25. The NetWare system error log says that there was a error writing to a
  26. directory on the volume (no information as to which directory).
  27.  
  28. The volume error log never gets written since NetWare dimounts the volume
  29. and then attempts to write to the volume error log, so I can't see any
  30. more information about the problem.

  32. Question 1. Has anybody else seen this fault ?
  33. Question 2. Is it possible to get NetWare to write the volume error log 
  34.         somewhere other than the root level on the volume which is
  35.         failing ?

  37. Any responses/help would be greatly appreciated, as I am getting very
  38. _stressed_ about this :-(
