- Here in the U of D English Department we are using SCSI Express to run
- our CD ROMs on our 3.11 server. So far, we have had no problems with
- this system. SCSI Express lets you mount a CD as a NetWare volume, so
- you can use it like any other volume -- map a drive or search drive to
- it, set ownership and trustee rights (no write access of course), etc.
- Very nice.
-
- It's my understanding that SCSI Express has just started providing
- complete Mac support. It should let you have Mac CDs, IBM CDs, and
- shared CDs.
-
- SCSI Express provides support for many SCSI devices from one HA. We
- have it controlling 2 1.2G Maxtor hard disks, 2 (soon to be 4) CD
- drives, and a 650M multifunction WORM/rewritable optical drive. We
- are using an Adaptec 1542b HA.
-
- SCSI Express is a product of Micro Design International. Here's
- their address, etc.:

-
- Hope this helps. I don't work for MDI, of course.
