  12.     I've recently upgraded to NetWare v3.11.  An application that we are
  13. using is getting the error message, "Sharing violation error reading device
  14. NETWORK" along with other file I/O errors.
  15.  
  16.     The application is run by multiple users and reads and writes the
  17. same files.  I increased the LOCK DELAY to 5 and LOCK RETRIES to 15. This
  18. seems to have helped some.  However, every once in awhile a sharing violation
  19. error still pops up.
  20.  
  21.     Would increasing the LOCK parameters to much larger values such as
  22. 50 and 150 respectively, help or cause performance degradation.

  24.     I've read over the manuals and changing these values seems to the only
  25. modification that can correct this problem.  If anyone knows of something else
  26. that I can try let me know.
