- Hi,
-
- For data files, you should be able to just open the data files from it's parent
- application and select the "SAVE" feature and the icon should be restored to
- it's original form. The applications on the other hand will have to be copied
- over from floppy like you have seen.
-
- Why are your DESKTOPs getting corrupted so often? They really shouldn't get
- corrupted that often. Just by experience, I can tell you that we rarely rebuild
- these databases on our servers and they have been running for quite some time.
- Also, we usually just do this re-build to test something, not because icons are
- changing, or data files cannot be opened with a double-click. So, again I will
- ask why you are having to rebuild so often? How do you know you have to rebuild
- ? These are good questions to ask yourself because frequent desktop rebuilds
- may indicate more basic problems on these volumes. Frequent rebuilds may also
- indicate a misunderstanding of what this process should be used for.
-
- Let me know if I can help you out...
