- This is an age old question that has been contested since the dawn of
- personal computers (about 12 years ago). This thread has been much
- discussed in a number of different forums. The most damaging thing to
- the components in your server is the powerup sequence (initial power
- surge, drive spinup, mounting volumes, etc.). This must be balanced
- against the power draw of your equipment. I would suggest a compromise:
- leave the server up M-F and down it over the weekend.
