  11. This is an age old question that has been contested since the dawn of
  12. personal computers (about 12 years ago). This thread has been much
  13. discussed in a number of different forums. The most damaging thing to
  14. the components in your server is the powerup sequence (initial power
  15. surge, drive spinup, mounting volumes, etc.). This must be balanced
  16. against the power draw of your equipment. I would suggest a compromise:
  17. leave the server up M-F and down it over the weekend.
