  12. I don't know if there's better scanner software for the NeXT than
  13. HSD's PowerScan, but I do know that it is in no way comparable to
  14. the old Scan-X software, which, I agree, was junk.  This time, they
  15. did _lots_ of testing and fixing and improving before the release.

  17. PowerScan is fairly well designed and works well.  One warning:
  18. it's not fancy in terms of either functionality or interface, but
  19. it seems to be a good, usable piece of software that does somewhat
  20. more than you'd minimally expect (rather than somewhat less) and
  21. does it fairly reliably.

  23. I'm _very_ glad we're using it instead of Scan-X.  PowerScan is
  24. good.
