- Occasionally I have a need to use "grab" to make some icons for an app.
- But I am having trouble trying to do some things I used to with icon.app.
- I've heard some people praise IconBuilder, and would like their help in
- getting me back in business.
-
- Usually I want to "grab" a small image on the screen, then change the
- color that was in the background (usually white or gray) to totally
- transparent, and then spruce up the remaining image dot by dot, adding
- color, etc. (for example, I recently wanted the treble/bass cleff music
- symbols for an app, so I "grab"ed the postscrip display that was made with
- musictex. Then wanted to change all the white to transparent, and the
- remaining black to blue...)
-
- Here is how I would have proceeded with icon.app. I would command-A to
- select the entire image, then "replace" white with transparent, and drop
- the marquee down. Then I'd again select all, fill the marquee with blue,
- set the compositing mode to satop, and drop... (then go in and fix up the
- dot by dot bits to make it pretty...)
-
- Any help would be appreciated...
