  13. The head of engineering at our department just came back from Comdex.
  14. He said Sun was showing their new SPARC Classic.
  15. He said that THEY said (the Sun people) it required Solaris 2.X to run.

  17. Another fellow here (a manager) was keeping his eyes open to software for  
  18. Solaris 2.X.  He says none of the shrink-wrapped software that we are currently  
  19. using on our Suns (Sybase, uShare, etc.) work under Solaris 2.X, nor are any  
  20. working updates of that shrink-wrapped software expected for the near future  
  21. (whatever 'near' means).

  23. So, apparantly Sun has released a new machine for which there is no software.

  26. BTW, I don't think our company will be getting any SPARC Classic's for awhile.
