  26. Argh, no! There's a much less drastic solution. Create a folder
  27. and paste a custom icon onto it. Using ResEdit or a similar tool,
  28. make the "Icon" file inside that folder visible (turn off the
  29. invisible bit). Copy the "Icon" file to the root level of the
  30. afflicted drive. Make it invisible again. Throw away the folder
  31. and reboot. Your drive should have an icon again.

  33. This happened to me not long after System 7 came out and this fix
  34. worked perfectly.
