- While reading article <1992Nov20.012130.3727@pro-freedom.cts.com>, I noticed that
- pip@pro-freedom.cts.com (David Pipgras) said the following:
- >System 7.1 requires you to upgrade virtually all your software, as most
- >things will not work properly, or are just plainly incompatible with 7.1,
- >including Publish It Easy 2.9, Illustrator 3.2, Ready,Set,Go! 4.5a,
- >HyperCard 2.1, Most CD-ROM drivers, Scanner Drivers, Monitor Drivers,
- >Printer Drivers, (all non-apple of course), MacLabelPro, After Dark, ATM
- >2.3, OnCue II, Adobe Type Reunion, Adobe Type Align, MacPaint, MacDraw...
-
- Please describe these real (or imagined) incompatibilities. Other than MacTCP
- 1.1 and ATM 2.0.3 (but ONLY for fonts in the Fonts folder), absolutely nothing
- on my Mac broke. Illustrator 3.2, Pagemaker 4.2, QuarkXpress 3.1[1], Painter,
- Sketcher, ResEdit, MS Word 4.0E, Photoshop 2.01, Mac Paint 2.0, and many, many
- PD and shareware programs all work perfectly under System 7.1.
-
- You don't really NEED to go to 7.1, but if you don't need MacTCP I've found
- no software (at least on my system) that is plainly _incompatible_ with it;
- I'd check for other problems.
