  25. I had a similar pirating-ethics problem a while back.  I had been using
  26. MacWrite 5.0 legitimately on my school's computers for a long time, and had
  27. many MacWrite 5.0 files and was used to doing things in that program.
  28. Then I bought my own Mac and acquired a legitimate copy of MacWrite II,
  29. but continued to use a pirated copy of MacWrite 5.0 for most of my work 
  30. (MacWrite 5.0 was no longer on the market at this point, I believe.)  So, was
  31. I guilty of piracy?  The point could be argued, but I don't think I was.
  32. I think that owning a newer version of a program legitimizes use of
  33. earlier versions of the same program.

  35. I have switched over to MacWrite II now, which I have legitimately, so
  36. this particular case is no longer an issue for me.
