  14. A friend of mine and myself were trying to set up an Appletalk network between his IIsi and my LC, and after we had established file sharing his IIsi crashed.

When he tried to restart his Mac got as far as the desktop and the Finder's menubar, but no icons. The menubar then goes away for a little while and the watch cursor appears, after a little while the menubar reappears, but still no icons. This the repeats itself. Below is a list of things that we have tried. He is running 7.0.1 with TU 1.1.1.

  19. 1) Startup with extensions off.
  20. 2) Rebuild desktop file.
  21. 3) Startup from Disk Tools.
  22. 4) Reinstall system software.

  24. Any ideas about what could be wrong?
