  12. A friend of mine asked me to post this since I was telling him 
  13. how great the mac newsgroups are... he was getting a little fed 
  14. up with "out of memory" errors when using system 7.0 on an SE
  15. so he tried to use Virtual memory. Of course he couldn't since
  16. the SE hasn't got any MMU just a 68000. "What you need is an 030
  17. based accelerator." says I.

  19.     Well there was one going cheap in the back of Mac week
  20. so he took the plunge. He still can't use virtual memory???
  21. My guess is that he needs some kind of INIT to use an 030's MMU
  22. properly. I don't know off hand what the accelerator is but is
  23. there a generic INIT which tweaks the system so that a "compact"
  24. mac can use the 68030's MMU and finally get VM working.
