- A friend of mine asked me to post this since I was telling him
- how great the mac newsgroups are... he was getting a little fed
- up with "out of memory" errors when using system 7.0 on an SE
- so he tried to use Virtual memory. Of course he couldn't since
- the SE hasn't got any MMU just a 68000. "What you need is an 030
- based accelerator." says I.
-
- Well there was one going cheap in the back of Mac week
- so he took the plunge. He still can't use virtual memory???
- My guess is that he needs some kind of INIT to use an 030's MMU
- properly. I don't know off hand what the accelerator is but is
- there a generic INIT which tweaks the system so that a "compact"
- mac can use the 68030's MMU and finally get VM working.
