  14. Are you using Desktop Textures?  I think that will remove those color boxes 
  15. in the General Controls for 7.0-7.1.  The way to get those boxes back is to
  16. install the "Control Panel-Compatible" desktop from Desktop Textures, then
  17. go back to General Controls.  This may not be your problem, but it's the
  18. only thing I have run across.
