- OFFICE MEMO Where's my decoder ring? Date:11/19/92
- Dear Apple (and MacAppers),
-
- I have a debug version of my app that seems to work fine and has some major
- components in place and I thought I'd build a non-debug version to see how
- much disk space it would use. I compiled with -NoDebug -NoSym -NoNeedsSystem7
- and got a successful complilation. However, when I ran it I got the following
- dialog when I tried to create a new document: "Could not create a new document
- because an internal component is missing. Please contact the developer."
-
- Checking the ErrMgr.r file shows that the debug version of this message is
- "Call Apple for a secret decoder ring" -- not the most helpful information.
-
- Well, Apple, I'd like my secret decoder ring. What does it mean? What causes
- it to be generated? Why isn't it triggered in the debug version of my app?
-
