  14.     I've tried posting to my local help group, but noone seems to know the
  15. answer so I figured I'd try going global.
  16.     I'm running an SE/30 with a Cabletron Systems SCSI ethernet connector
  17. and and Imagewriter plugged into the modem port.  My network has a Next
  18. (running NextStep 2.0) and a Next laserwriter.  When I was running 7.0.1
  19. I could print to the laserwriter fine.  Then I installed 7.1 and I
  20. couldn't print to the laserwriter anymore.  Someone told me to replace
  21. the Laserwriter extension with the one shipped with System 7.0.1 (I think
  22. it's Laserwriter 7.1.1).  I tried that and it still didn't work.  Then I
  23. tried reinstalling 7.0.1 on one of my hard drives and printing from that.
  24.  Now I can't print from that either.

  26.     Here's what's working:
  27.     - Ethertalk works great 'cause I can mount Appletalk volumes and I can
  28. ftp and telnet...both to and from my computer.
  29.     - Appletalk works for the same reasons.
  30.     - My Imagewriter works just dandy.
  31.     - I can print the same documents from a Quadra also connected to the
  32. Laserwriter.
  33.  
  34.     Here are the symptoms:
  35.         - When I choose Print a dialog, 'Looking for Laserwriter...' pops up,
  36. then one that says 'Status: Setting Up' or something like that.  This
  37. second dialog box stays on forever (just keeps flashing - screen redraw).
  38.     - Sometimes I can cancel by hitting Cmd-(.), but sometimes I have to
  39. restart.
  40.     - Sometimes (after about ten minutes) a dialog box pops up saying 'There
  41. was a printing error ..."
  42.     - This problem occurs in any document, Freehand to TeachText.

  44. Does anyone know what the problem might be?  Do I need to set anything in
  45. Page Setup?  Any help would be appreciated (I am at the point of shooting
  46. my computer!).
