- I have been comtemplating the purchase of an 88Mb SyQuest drive for two
- reasons:
-
- 1) To be a removable media backup device for my 80Mb hard disk.
-
- 2) To provide extra on line disk capacity. 80Mb just isn't enough.
-
- My question is this. How difficult is it to back up an on line SyQuest
- cartridge to another cartridge with a single drive? I'd really like to get
- two SyQuest drives, but my pocket book can't handle that right now. I can
- remember the bad old days when copying a 400k disk on a 128k machine with
- a single drive meant MANY disk swaps. That's probably going to be deja vu
- all over again with my current 8 Meg IIcx and a single 88 meg SyQuest. I
- really want to get away from the 90 odd floppies it takes for my current
- backup. Maybe doing 10-20 SyQuest swaps will be better than shuffling
- through 90+ floppies. And faster too.
