  23. In fact, such utilities do exist; two suggested were Norton
  24. Utilities' FileSaver, and the freeware CommentKeeper init.  I
  25. just grabbed a copy of CommentKeeper (I couldn't seem to find it
  26. on sumex-aim.stanford.edu as advertised, but it was also at
  27. mac.archive.umich.edu), and it did the trick.  My desktop file is
  28. finally rebuilt and cleaned up (I wish I could say the same for
  29. my physical desktop :-( ), my new colorized icons are finally
  30. showing up, and the comments were all preserved.  Thanks to
  31. Russell Owen, Brian Connell, and Richard C. Long for their
  32. answers, and kudos to Maurice Volaski for writing CommentKeeper.
