- I think your best bet is to find SOMEONE with an Apple II that has both
- 5.25 and 3.5" drives. I think they're readily available at almost any
- elementary school, for example. Copy your 5.25" disks to 3.5" media
- then you can use AFE to convert to Mac format.
-
- There's a neat init at apple.com called "PRODOS file system". It was
- intended to be used with the LC //e card, but works fine on all macs.
- It lets you pop a PRODOS 3.5" disk into your mac and have it appear on
- the desktop. Subdirectories appear as folders and can be opened.
-
- If you have ClarisWorks or MacWrite II you can read and write directly to
- Apple II PRODOS-formatted disks on your Mac. This way you wouldn't
- have to translate all those disks - you can just access files directly.
- My father is using it; he copied all his Apple II files to a folder
- on his hard disk and uses things like "On Location" to search for text in
- them. You don't need AFE at all; just pop the Apple II disk in the drive
- and drag over the icons you want to copy.
