  21. I have had dealling with them on several occations. They have been
  22. friendly and helpful. Pre-Owed also happens to be just down the street
  23. from my office.

  28. As for saving the money... The $70... The only drive that I know for under
  29. $400 is from Spin Inc [(800) 466-1200] also in Massachusetts... and I also
  30. happen to own one!!

  32. Spin's sister company, Spirit, makes some of MacWarehouses PowerUser
  33. equipment, namely the SyQuest drives...
  34.  
  35. In most cases, the only real difference between SyQuest drives is the
  36. software, and to get a little bit more picky, the way they do their caching.

  38. There are not many things that one can recondition on a SyQuest... a power
  39. supply... the drive mech... some wires... ect...
  40.  
  41. Things that you should look for is the service.
  42. What happens after that 90 day period???? 
  43. Who will service it???? 
  44. And the big one... Who will help if one can not read data off of a disk??

  46. For the money, the Spin hardware is the best value by FAR!! In all cases,
  47. it is the same internal mechs as everyone else!! SyQuest, Quantum,
  48. Toshiba, NEC, ect... Spin is just not as big!
