- was essentially how to get the StyleWriter to halftone a gray or color image.
- Apple still has not developed a driver for the SW which will do this -- they
- claim that you can get halftones from any program which does the halftoning
- itself (which are very few and often limited -- PageMaker only halftones
- TIFF images). If I print a color image from Canvas, for instance (or one with
- Canvas' grayscale fill pattern -- or any pattern, for that matter) the color
- image comes out mostly black (non-white colors print as black), and the fills
- are low resolution (the pattern is bitmapped at 72dpi rather than the SW's
- 360dpi).
- I've been meaning to check into the BetterWriter drivers -- anyone know
- first hand if they can do what Apple has seen fit not to?
