- This is my 1st post, so please don't flame me if I am in the wrong
- group.
-
- I need some purchasing advice - I am about to buy a mac and I am
- trying to decide between the LC II and the IIsi. The users will be
- mostly my wife (teacher) and daughter (age 12), for educational,
- home, and game programs. I also dream of someday developing
- educational programs on it (C or C++).
-
- I will be getting a color monitor, extended keyboard, a modem
- (eventually) and probably an HP DeskJet C printer. I will
- immediately increase memory to 8 or 9 Mb, and will start with an
- 80 Mb disk drive.
-
- My question is, is the IIsi worth the approx. $600 extra (under the
- educator's discount)? Will I realistically ever need its greater
- memory expansion potential? Is the IIsi's 20 Mhz 68030 all that
- much faster than the LC II's 16 Mhz chip?
-
- Since the educator's price INCREASED after the recent drop in list
- price, should I wait until January hoping for prices to drop?
-
- Thanks in advance for any help you folks can give me. Feel free to
- respond to my email address.
