  11. This is my 1st post, so please don't flame me if I am in the wrong
  12. group.

  14. I need some purchasing advice - I am about to buy a mac and I am
  15. trying to decide between the LC II and the IIsi.  The users will be
  16. mostly my wife (teacher) and daughter (age 12), for educational,
  17. home, and game programs.  I also dream of someday developing
  18. educational programs on it (C or C++).

  20. I will be getting a color monitor, extended keyboard, a modem
  21. (eventually) and probably an HP DeskJet C printer.  I will 
  22. immediately increase memory to 8 or 9 Mb, and will start with an 
  23. 80 Mb disk drive.
  24.  
  25. My question is, is the IIsi worth the approx. $600 extra (under the
  26. educator's discount)?  Will I realistically ever need its greater
  27. memory expansion potential?  Is the IIsi's 20 Mhz 68030 all that 
  28. much faster than the LC II's 16 Mhz chip?
  29.  
  30. Since the educator's price INCREASED after the recent drop in list
  31. price, should I wait until January hoping for prices to drop?
