  18. Our Comp Center is using a program called RevRdist to protect their system
  19. disks.  The program runs at startup, comparing stuff on the system disk with
  20. a copy of the disk kept on the network server.  If the two do not agree, the
  21. program eliminates the Wrong Stuff, downloads the Right Stuff and restarts the
  22. computer.  I think you can set RevRdist to do the same thing with application
  23. software as well as system software.

  28. RevRdist is a Macintosh program used to keep local hard disks synchronized
  29. with a master copy on an AppleShare server.  Typical use is in a student Mac
  30. lab.

  40. RevRdist+INITs.sea.hqx is a StuffIt self-extracting archive of the
  41. RevRdist application and two versions of its INIT, RevRINIT and
  42. RevRINIT MF.  RevRINIT MF and RevRINIT are identical except that the MF
  43. version forces the Mac to boot into MultiFinder, no matter what might
  44. be set via "Set Startup..."

  46. RevRdist.sea.hqx is the complete distribution of RevRdist THINK C 5.0
  47. sources.  It includes the documentation, application, sample configurations,
  48. and INITs.  If you fetch this file, you do not need the others.

  50. RevRdist runs under either System 6 or 7.

  52. This is version 1.4.0.8 of RevRdist.

  54. RevRdist and its sources are in the public domain.  However, it uses a
  55. HyperCard XCMD written by Landon Dyer of Apple.  This XCMD is not public
  56. domain, but it is redistributable.
