I am a novice Hypercard programmer, which will probably become obvious.

I want to create a stack that helps me organize my research ideas.  I
have seperate cards that contain information about each concept, idea,
or reference.  I would also like to have buttons that link areas of
text in my card to other cards.  Obvious.

The problem is, I hate to go through the monotony of creating new
buttons.  I'd like have those buttons automatically created,
when I create a new card.  After they are created, I will link them to
the relevant card and change the appearance of the button (transparent
to rectangle probably).

Is there any way to create new buttons automatically in the card
domain?  What message do you send to create a new button (if there is
one)?

I've tried to use the background, but setting the link in a
background button sets the link for the corresponding button in
every card using that background.  Is there a way that background
buttons can be automatically moved into the card domain?
