- Hi,
-
- I posted a "help" message a few days ago regarding hooking up
- my pb170 to an external LaCie drive and getting a lot of system errors.
-
- It turns out that all problems are gone if I turn off the
- internal termination (ie. there's no termination). But that drive is
- my only external SCSI device, and I should have the termination on
- according to the manual.
-
- LaCie tech support said it's ok to have no termination. Is
- that true? Or is the drive defective? What's the use of termination
- then if one can turn it on/off? Does having no termination degrades
- data intergrity? Although the drive seems to be working fine now, I
- don't feel quite comfortable without the termination on.
-
- Hope you experts ou there could give me some assurance of
- LaCie's claim (that it's alright to have the termination off).
-
- Thanks in advance...
-
- /Chen
