  25.     There is a known problem with the PowerBook 140, 170 (100? 145?)
  26. serial port at high bit rates (e.g. MIDI or data-compressing V.32bis
  27. modems). There are conflicting stories about whether a "PowerBook Tuner"
  28. available with some manufacturers' modems in alpha form is still being
  29. worked on, or is part of 7.1, or....
  30.     Personally, I use the serial (printer) port on a PB170 with a
  31. DaynaPort E/Z Ethernet adapter and have done ftp transfers at up to ~220
  32. kbps. Maybe it would have been faster if some packets hadn't gotten
  33. dropped and had to be retransmitted, but I can't tell without some sort
  34. of sniffer.
  35.     Hope this isn't the problem with the MIDI....
