- There is a known problem with the PowerBook 140, 170 (100? 145?)
- serial port at high bit rates (e.g. MIDI or data-compressing V.32bis
- modems). There are conflicting stories about whether a "PowerBook Tuner"
- available with some manufacturers' modems in alpha form is still being
- worked on, or is part of 7.1, or....
- Personally, I use the serial (printer) port on a PB170 with a
- DaynaPort E/Z Ethernet adapter and have done ftp transfers at up to ~220
- kbps. Maybe it would have been faster if some packets hadn't gotten
- dropped and had to be retransmitted, but I can't tell without some sort
- of sniffer.
- Hope this isn't the problem with the MIDI....
