>In that case, Mac&More is definitely NOT in grey market. I bought my SE/30 fromthem a year and half ago. I sent in my serial number with the registration card to Apple and it went through all right (because I got my "free gift" from Apple)

I'm not sure of the exact definition of "grey market," but I think it has
something to do with the following: Official Apple dealerships order from
Apple in high volume to get lower prices and to make their quotas with
Apple. They know they can't sell all of the product they buy, so they resell
it to mail-order houses and others for very little (if anything) above
their cost.
There was a debate a while back raging on the net re: who honors the
warranty on Apple products bought from companies that are not "official."
Some folks suggested that Apple, through its dealerships, would honor
these warranties. Others said they had tried to get warranty service
from their local "official" dealership, only to be turned-down because
they could not produce an invoice from an "official" dealer. I don't
think I ever saw a statement from Apple on this, so, I concluded that
depending on which dealership you took your unit to for warranty
service, your mileage could vary.
About a year and a half ago I wrote a letter to Steve Levy at MacWorld,
asking him to write a column about this mess. But, no go. It would have
been nice to have someone with an "inside track" reaseach this problem
and clarify the situation for the thousands of folks who've bought Apple
