- Subject: How to convert AC to battery power?
- Lines: 19
-
- I have an external hard drive that I would like to take with me on trips, if
- possible. I was wondering if any of the electronics gurus on the Net could
- tell me what would be involved in converting it to run off battery power.
-
- When I upgraded the hard drive in my PowerBook, I removed the 2.5 inch 20 meg.
- Conner drive and bought an external case and power supply to put it in. The
- case gets plugged into the wall and runs off AC current. If I were to
- construct a crude battery pack, say, a bunch of D-cells taped together, would
- they supply enough juice to run the thing on an airplane?
-
- Any opinions as to what would be involved would be much appreciated. Thanks a
- lot!
