- Apparently many of the new PC's (especially those with an AMI bios) have the
- ability to turn off parity checking, and then you can use Mac simmsin a PC.
- My x-roommate, in fact, had 4 megs of parity-checking RAM and 4 megs of
- non-parity-checking RAM (Mac simms) in his 386, and it worked fine.. he
- had to boot the thing with only parity-checking RAM and turn off the parity
- checking in the ROM setup, but then he installed the Mac simms and had 8 megs.
- The only problems he really ran into were installing OS/2, but then, what
- else would you expect from an OS from IBM? Actually, he somehow got that to
- work, too, and as far as i know, he's still running it that way..
