- Well, I gotta agree, these guys are real good. A few months ago, I had a
- problem with the sound on my IIsi (much more serious than the usual intermit-
- tent sound problem). When I tried to play sounds, I got system errors, no sound
- would play, my machine was freezing up, etc. So I brought my computer to the
- shop to have the techs look at it. Well, they called me the next day and said,
- "We ran Norton Utilities on the hard drive, it reported no problems, your
- machine is fine. Come and get it." They were going to charge me $45 an hour if
- I wanted them to keep checking the machine. Well, considering that I already
- have NU on my hard drive, I didn't need them to keep checking it for me. Even-
- tually the problem went away on its own (I guess it is related to the usual
- sound problems, but I didn't know about them then), lucky for me.
-
- Yeah, I'm sure the guys at the stores will very easily be able to tell if
- you've left small discolorations on the board. They'll just run Norton
- Utilities and it will report that the motherboard's been modified. :-) They're
- highly professional, after all.
