  11. I have an HP LaserJet Series II (not IIP, but the earlier model: II).
  12. I am about to buy a Mac IIsi 5/80 and need to know if I can
  13. use my LaserJet with my new Mac. Up until now I have had a PC, so the
  14. whole Mac world is new to me.

  16. My dealer tells me that I can hook up the HP Series II using
  17. 1.  AppleTalk
  18. 2.  a Postscript font cartridge.
  19.   
  20. Someone else also mentioned that I might need some software called
  21. "Grapple." But another dealer told me that Grapple was a real
  22. pain, and to avoid it if I can.

  24. Could anyone who has a spare moment and knows about this stuff
  25. please advise me? What exactly will I need to use my HP with my new Mac?
  26. What is the purpose of Appletalk, the font cartridge, and Grapple?
  27. Do I need all of the above? Do I need anything else such as more
  28. memory for the HP (now has 512K)?

  30. And finally, after I do all of these things, will the
  31. the HP run at a reasonable speed? I have heard that a postscript
  32. cartridge really slows things down. I plan on using the Mac to
  33. for MS-Word and maybe some small graphics. What will the print
  34. quality look like?

  36. If anyone actually has experience with an HP series II I would
