- I don't see why you should subtract $500 for the monitor, or if color
- is a factor you should get the 160. One should make a flat comparisonof
- the Duo+mini dock, to the 160. In the first case you have a smaller,
- lighter unit, that can get all the ports (including color out) of the
- other by connecting to the minidock. The PDS slot in the Duo is a hot
- bead of 3rd party innovation, and you can expect tons of cables, cards,
- and docks comming out that you can connect to (my idea is an overhead
- display, with the video built it, just connect the cord to the Duo)
- but being a component system you need to have all the addons, where
- ever you need them. If you'd prefer a more robust... all in one system
- then the PB's are a good option, with the video out, the floppy disk,
- and whole array of ports.
- Either way you win, you just have to decide if you need a more
- complete system (like a student who wants to take it to the library
- and home on the holidays), or if you prefer the component version
- (like a salesman on the road, or researcher who wants to move it
- back and forth from lab to home, and occasional fishing trips).
