- Yes. I've met some of these guys, and some of them are pretty good.
- Unless your an incredible pro with a soldering iron and are very,
- very careful to clean off any rosin, they will probably be able to tell.
- Additionally, heating a board often creates color changes that are easy
- to spot. These boards are wave soldered in the factories, basically
- floated on a solder pool and removed.

- When I was in high school I worked at Radio Shack. We could usually
- tell if someone had opened up a stereo. Little subtle things in terms
- of parts not lined up with indentations made in the factory and such.
- If we could tell (and we weren't doing service), then you can imagine
- that there are equivalent things for a Mac box to look for and people
- who do service for a living will notice.
